Genuine
Real traditional Chinese medicine, practiced by people who trained in it for decades. Not a spa menu with Chinese names on it.
Bona Fide means genuine, authentic, in good faith. It’s an unusual name for a massage studio, and we chose it deliberately.
In 1986, a serious work accident left Bin Wang, a native of Hubei, China, bedridden for two years. Doctors told her she might never walk again.
She turned instead to traditional Chinese medicine and Tai Chi, and over months her body came back. What began as her own recovery became three decades of study: Tui-Na, acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, and the diagnostic principles behind all of them.
In 2018 she opened a 300-square-foot clinic in Philadelphia's Chinatown. It grew into a 3,000-square-foot wellness center with nine therapists, and then into the Havertown studio you can visit today.
I know the pain in your body, because I lived with that pain myself. The treatments I give you come from my own path to healing. Bin Wang, founder
From a hospital bed in Hubei to a treatment room on Darby Road in Havertown.
A serious work accident leaves Bin bedridden for two years. Traditional Chinese medicine and Tai Chi bring her body back to strength when conventional treatment had run out of answers.
Thirty years mastering Tui-Na, acupuncture, cupping, gua sha and moxibustion, and learning when to use each one.
A 300-square-foot clinic opens in Philadelphia’s Chinatown. Word spread, and it grew into a 3,000-square-foot wellness center with a team of nine.
A practice for Haverford Township and Delaware County, with the same standard of training behind every pair of hands.
Every therapist here learned from Bin Wang directly, one to one, over years rather than weekends.

Thirty years of traditional Chinese medicine, and the person who trains everyone else here. She specializes in chronic cases that haven’t responded to treatment elsewhere.

Trained by Bin in Tui-Na, cupping and deep tissue. Regulars come to him for lower-back and sciatic work that holds up between visits.
Trained by Bin across the full range of traditional techniques, with a particular gift for reflexology, facial gua sha and ear cleansing.
How our therapists qualify. Standard certification is where we start, not where we finish. Each therapist apprentices one-on-one with Bin, learning to read the body’s subtler signals and to understand how pain in one area connects to another. Before anyone treats a client here, they have to treat Bin herself, to her satisfaction.
Genuine. Authentic. In good faith. Three words that are easy to print and harder to live up to.
Real traditional Chinese medicine, practiced by people who trained in it for decades. Not a spa menu with Chinese names on it.
We teach the techniques the way they were handed down, adapted for modern bodies that sit at desks all day rather than work in fields.
Honest pricing, an honest prognosis, and the willingness to tell you when you don’t need us at all.
Every visit starts with a consultation, so you never need to know which treatment you want before you walk in. New clients get twenty percent off their first appointment.
